Advancing and Transforming Human Rights First Aid Centres Programme Successfully Conducted

The “Advancing and Transforming Human Rights First Aid Centres Programme” was successfully held on 21st February at the Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Centre, bringing together district Human Rights First Aid Centre coordinators from across the country.

The primary objective of the program was to evaluate the progress of these centres and develop a strategic action plan to ensure their long-term sustainability. Given the ongoing global funding crisis, discussions centered on innovative approaches to maintain and expand the reach of these vital community support hubs.

Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the challenges faced by Human Rights First Aid Centres and explored solutions to strengthen their capacity in providing timely assistance to individuals facing rights violations. The program emphasized the importance of collaboration, resource mobilization, and policy advocacy to safeguard the continuity of these centers.

The event marked a significant step in reinforcing the commitment to human rights protection at the grassroots level, ensuring that communities continue to have access to essential support mechanisms despite financial constraints.
