Alongside dedicated rights defenders and policymakers, we are uniting to safeguard our digital future, convened by the Digital Democracy Initiative South Asia.

Inspiring Opening: The forum kicked off with a vital keynote address by Mr. Dimuth Atapattu, Director General of Sri Lanka’s Data Protection Authority, setting the stage for critical discussions on regional challenges and opportunities.
Regional Solidarity: It has been an immensely powerful experience hearing directly from grassroots organizations representing Bhutan, Pakistan, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh.
Shared Vision: Their lived realities remind us why we must co-design practical frameworks—such as the South Asia Compact—to hold stakeholders accountable and protect digital citizens.
