Human Rights Commission chairperson Deepika Udagama resigns

Dr. Deepika Udagama, Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) has submitted her resignation letter to the Constitutional Council and it has been accepted by the Constitutional Council, according to Parliament media section.

This has been mentioned on the official Twitter account of the parliament.

Her resignation will take effect in next September. The Constitutional Council has also accepted her resignation letter and appreciate her service.

Dr. Deepika Udagama was appointed to this post in 2015 while serving as the Head of the Department of Legal Studies, University of Peradeniya.
